Happy Thanksgiving – 2024
Happy Thanksgiving brothers, sisters, friends and family. This is a glorious time to be alive before Jesus returns to take us out of the world very soon. Hope and pray that you are all doing well and will remember to take time on this day to taste and see how good the Lord is to us all. Here are our spiritual food verses for today. It comes from Psalms 100:
Psalm 100:1 – A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
Psalm 100:2 – Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Psalm 100:3 – Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Psalm 100:4 – Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
Psalm 100:5 – For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
What a blessing it is to have the Word of God to feed on every day. Especially today in the USA, a day that we celebrate as a special time for increased emphasis and reminder for giving thanks, called Thanksgiving. Job 23:12 says, “I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food”. Therefore, as we recall the great and mighty works of our Almighty God, make Him your priority in this day and feed on His Words first, for they are spiritual life to everyone that finds them (Prov 4:22).
Did you notice what Psalm 100 said? God instructed us to come before His presence with singing, by entering His gates with thanksgiving. After everything the Lord has done for us, who will remember His great works and be happy and thankful enough to obey Him? Being thankful is a choice today and every day. There is always something to give Him thanks for.
Are we blessed to know God? Are we blessed to have His Word? Are we blessed even more to have His Spirit living inside us? Are we blessed to have the ability to praise Him? Are we blessed because we are not in the darkness and going to hell? These alone are enough to shout an eternity for.
Let’s praise and thank Him for the opportunity to live in His presence. Thank Him that no matter what our circumstances are, we can depend on Him. For His Word has said, “For He will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). But never forget the next verse that teaches us how to release our faith to release His promises in our lives:
Hebrews 13:6 – So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Hebrews 13:6 instructs us to open our mouth and say, “The Lord is my helper, I will not fear what man can do to me”. God is teaching us that we must come into agreement with His spoken words and accept them by speaking them. Because He has said to us He is with us, we must say He is helping us. This is what faith is, it is not based upon what your enemy is doing to you.
In these days of transition from great darkness and lies to increasing light and truth, let us keep our eyes upon God who is our source of all Light and Truth. Fo God has also said “While we look not at the things that are seen, but we rather focus on the unchanging God and His Word” (2 Corinthians 4:18), we can trust Him to do what He has said according to 2 Corinthians 4:18, and Numbers 23:19.
What are you thankful for today? How many things can you list that God has done for you? You may be going through some tough times, but rather than focusing on what is not good, look to your source of everything good. For He has said, “Every good and perfect gift comes down from Him” (James 1:17). He is our source for every need. He is our supplier of every good gift.
Look back at Psalm 100 verse 5. God proclaims His goodness, and His mercy is always present, and they will never end. That alone should give you hope to begin your day giving thanks to Him. Let us purpose in our heart to sing blessings of thanksgiving unto the Lord today. This is important every day, not just today. Yet we are being reminded by a Holiday that we should do everything to make a Holy Day. We can do this by showing someone that does not know Him, His Great Love!
For those in the USA, Happy Thanksgiving. For those in the rest of the world every day should be a time to give thanks to God. He is not finished with any of us, and He will watch over His Word to perform them in our lives. But we must choose to continue to hear His voice and be led by His Spirit to cooperate with His works.
We love you! God loves you! And the best is yet to come! His name is Jesus Christ and if you do not know Him, now is a great time to receive His free gift of salvation.
Happy Thanksgiving!
